Bridge Game

Bridge is a card game many players love playing. However at times finding a partner for bridge may be a bit difficult; this is when the computer comes to your rescue with the many card games available today.

Bridge can be played either by buying a CD of the game or by playing on one of the internet sets offering bridge. The advantage of playing on online sites is that you get to play against someone else on the site, interested in playing bridge. This proves to be better than playing the computer as there is more of a challenge this way.

In bridge, opposite players are members of the same team. The trick in winning the game lies in being able to secretly communicate your next moves to your pattern across the table. Like most games, the object of bridge is to accumulate more points than your opponent’s team the game starts with 13 cards per player and a bidding auction.

You have to choose both a suit, and a number of tricks to bid during your turn. Adding the number 6 to this bid shows the number of tricks your team takes while the suit is that round’s trump suit. The declarer is the highest bidder while the partner, the dummy.

Once the first player plays a card, the dummy exposes his or her hand to everyone. It is up to the declarer to play both his or her hand, and the dummy’s hand. On playing clockwise, the players have to aim to play a card belonging to the same suit as the first card. After everyone’s turn, it is the player who deals the highest trump who wins the cards for their team.

However if there was no trump in this game, then it is the person with the highest playing card of the suit, the aces, that wins the trick. On winning the trick, the player leads a card. And this same routine continues till all the players have played their set of cards.

There are different buttons on the card game bridge to help you play the game. A set of buttons numbered 1 to 7 under the bid display is clicked for your bid, to be followed by a suit. If there is no trump in the bid, you click a number and the nt button. You can highlight your bid to alert other players by using the Alert button.

With the auto button, your cards are automatically played from high to low, following suit. This option is best if you want to avoid clicking for the remaining hand. The button Last Trick displays the cards used in the last trick.

Though a relatively easy game to learn, bridge is a difficult game to master. Novices are usually taught eagerly by experienced players. So with some practice you are sure to be able to play the card game bridge; one of the most popular card games in the market today.
