Double Dragon
Saturday, September 29th, 2007One of the many video games you can play with today is the game, Double Dragon. This is a high precision game, which is a product of Nintendo Entertainment System. The game revolves around the story of twin brothers, Billy and Jimmy Lee. These brothers learnt fighting on the cold and tough streets of their city and it was their knowledge of martial arts and street smarts that had made them fighting machines.
With Billy’s girlfriend Marian having been kidnapped by the Black Warriors, it is up to you to use whatever weapons you get across to save her. You find whips, bats, knives, oil drums and dynamite that you can us in the game to pursue the gang through factories, slums and wooded outskirts of the city. To your horror, once you reach the hideout of Double Dragon, you find you have to fight against your own brother, Jimmy!
You can use your control pad to control Double Dragon. Of the eight different maneuvers, you can do your head butt by pressing to the right or left twice. You can choose between two game modes with the select button. With the one-player mode, you get to play against the computer while the two player mode lets you play against another player on Double Dragon.
The A button is for punching in the direction of your opponent and the B button is for kicking in the direction of your opponent. If you press both buttons simultaneously, you get to jump on Double Dragon. A diagonal jump kick is possible by pressing the Control Pad diagonally. These techniques are for use in level 1; the more advanced levels have more advanced techniques to be used.
There are altogether 7 technical skill levels on Double Dragon where each new game starts at level 1. You earn more fighting techniques as you advance your levels, which are reached once your score reaches over 999, and you find a ‘heart’ mark. There are four stages in Double Dragon; the City Slum, The Industrial Area, the Forest and the Hideout of the Boss.
The different characters playing in Double Dragon are Billy Lee, Jimmy Lee the secret leader of Shadow Boss, Lopar, Alobo, Williams, Linda, Chintai and Willy. You come across many weapons on Double Dragon like boxes, knives, bats, oil drums and dynamite. You can pick up and throw them while pressing A button. If you want to swing the bat or crack the whip, all you have to do is to press A button.
